Heroic Korean Working Class
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said that the heroic working class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, as befits the core unit of the Juche revolution and the eldest son of the country, should support the Party’s ideas and cause in the vanguard and advance holding up the torch of a new great revolutionary upsurge in building an economic giant.
His proposition is a precious instruction which clarified the position and role of the Korean working people, who have grown up in the embrace of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, in building a thriving socialist country.
The sacred name of the heroic Kim Il Sung’s and Kim Jong Il’s working class implies the great love for and trust in the Korean workers by the peerlessly great persons of Mt Paektu, and represents the traditions of loyalty and labour feats of the workers of the elder generation and the revolutionary features and militant temperament of the Korean workers in the great era of Kim Jong Un.
The great leaders always cherished deep in their hearts their dear workers and other people. Saying that ours is the country for the working people, they brought up the latter, with their hearts burning with love and trust, passion and affection for the latter throughout their lives. Immutable are the patriotic loyalty, a high degree of revolutionary spirit, a strong sense of organization, a strong militant spirit and unity displayed by the working people.
History records no revolution like the Korean revolution that has braved at every step the grave trials and adversities decisive of its success in such an arduous and complicated situation. However, the DPRK has made eye-opening achievements one after another unprecedented in its history, unfolding a chapter of great victory. These are the brilliant fruition born not of any mysterious divine power but of the great strength of the Korean people, including the heroic working class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, who are following and safeguarding their Party with a single mind.
After the country’s liberation the Korean workers took the lead in faithfully supporting the line of building a new democratic Korea advanced by Kim Il Sung. They vigorously launched a shock brigade movement for production and an emulation drive for increased production to restore war-torn factories and enterprises in a short period of time and dynamically pushed ahead with production and construction. During the grim days of the Fatherland Liberation War, they made a tangible contribution to winning victory in the war by ensuring wartime production and transportation in the teeth of the enemy’s heavy bombings and hail of bullets. They stood in the forefront of raising the flames of the great Chollima upswing after the war. They played a pivotal role in conducting such mass innovation drives as a let-one-machine-tool-make-more movement, creating the speed of the 1980s. They created the Kanggye spirit by taking their cue from the revolutionary soldier spirit of the Korean People’s Army and kindled the torches of Songgang and Ranam in the trying years of the Arduous March. Their patriotic devotion and creative strength served as the source of miracles which made it possible to build a powerful socialist bulwark independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence on this land where centuries-old backwardness and poverty prevailed and to usher in a new era of building a powerful country in the face of the pernicious blockade imposed by the imperialists.
The original features of the working class, the core unit of the Juche revolution and the eldest son of the country, remain unchanged though much water has flown under the bridge. The structures created by dint of self-reliance and self-development day after day in the country are inconceivable without the devoted efforts of the working people who are creditably discharging their mission and role as the pioneers and point men in the building of a socialist economic giant. All the worksites, including the coal, metallurgical, railway and fishing sectors are overflowing with revolutionary ardor and militant mettle of workers to kindle the flames of a great upsurge with the spirit of achieving great innovations and leap forward and the courageous spirit of self-reliance and self-development. As the DPRK has the service personnel and people, including the working class, who burn their pure hearts for the sake of the WPK Central Committee and loyally support the Party’s leadership by creating the Mallima speed, miraculous achievements that change yesterday and today and by morning and evening are being witnessed in the drive to build a powerful socialist country.
The heroic Kim Il Sung’s and Kim Jong Il’s working class, who have cherished absolute loyalty to their leader, burning enthusiasm, high practical ability, steadfast principled stand and unyielding fighting capacity, keep to all fronts and posts of building an economic giant—this is a great strength and source of all victories that can be compared to nothing.
They will clearly demonstrate to the whole world the spirit and mettle of their country which is scoring signal successes in the struggle to build a socialist power on the strength of single-hearted unity by giving fullest play to the inexhaustible strength of the Korean working class shining with the august names of their great leaders.
